Repair and Self-Repair
Build power decides how fast a builder builds, but it plays no part in repair. Every builder repairs at the same speed.
Repair
A builder repairing a finished unit restores 1 hit point every tick, which is 30 hit points a second. Each tick it also asks for 1 energy, so repair costs 30 energy a second and no metal.
- The rate is the same for every builder. The Commander, with a build power of 300, repairs no faster than a Construction Aircraft with 50.
- Several repairers add up: three builders restore 90 hit points a second.
- Each repairer pays its own energy. During an energy stall it stops until its debt is paid.
- Repair goes past armour and veterancy: every point counts in full, up to the unit's maximum.
- Repair pauses while the unit being repaired is moving.
An order to repair a unit that is not finished helps to build it instead, at the builder's build power.
Worked Example
A Bulldog has 2102 hit points. Brought back from half health, it needs 1051 hit points:
| Repairers | Time | Energy |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Construction KBot | 35 seconds | 1051 |
| 3 Construction KBots | 11.7 seconds | 1051 |
| The Commander | 35 seconds | 1051 |
The energy cost is the same however many builders share the work. A Krogoth brought back from half of its 29,918 hit points takes one builder more than 8 minutes.
Self-Repair
Only the two Commanders repair themselves; no other unit in the game has a heal time in its data. Every 8 ticks a damaged Commander regains 1 hit point and asks for 1 energy, which comes to 3.75 hit points and 3.75 energy a second. Like any repair, it stops during an energy stall.
A Commander down to 1000 of its 3000 hit points needs almost 9 minutes and 2000 energy to repair itself fully. A single Construction KBot does the same work in 67 seconds.
